The following groups are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination from 13 April 2026 as they are at increased risk of serious illness if they catch the virus:
- adults aged 75 years and over
- residents living in a care home for older adults
- individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed, as defined in the immunosuppressed sections of tables 3 and 4 from the COVID-19: green book, chapter 14a (pages 24 -26).
This includes: people undergoing some chemotherapy and radiotherapy; transplant recipients, people with HIV; people with genetic conditions or who take medicines that suppress their immune system long-term; people who have experienced blood cancers, plus some other specific groups. Please check the ‘green book’ for a full list.
The NHS will contact you if you’re eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, or you can choose to book an appointment at a pharmacy.
